EPA Delays Decision On Coal Ash Regulation

Law360, New York (December 17, 2009, 6:01 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday that its decision on regulating coal ash waste from power plants, previously set to be completed by the end of December, will be delayed to allow the agency to complete its analysis.

EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson had set a deadline to complete the regulatory decision before the close of 2009, but the agency said it was still actively clarifying and refining parts of the proposal due to the complexity of the necessary analysis.
