Senate Committee Approves Obama FTC Picks

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 12:55 PM EST) -- A key U.S. Senate panel has approved Edith Ramirez and Julie Brill to fill the two remaining posts at the five-member Federal Trade Commission, paving the way for a full Senate vote on the nominees.

In an executive session on Thursday, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation signed off on President Barack Obama's picks, who have both advocated stronger regulatory powers at the agency.
