CPSC Extends Kids' Product Testing Enforcement Stay

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 6:39 PM EST) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission voted unanimously on Friday to extend a stay of enforcement on the testing and certification of many regulated children’s products required under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act for a year past the original early February deadline.

The stay of enforcement will remain in effect for these children’s products while the CPSC continues to work toward recognizing labs for testing, the agency said.

Independent third-party testing and certification will only be required for the products 90 days after the CPSC...
