US, China Strike Deal Over 'Famous' Export Subsidies

Law360, New York (December 21, 2009, 4:59 PM EST) -- The United States and China have reached an agreement to resolve a trade dispute involving the subsidized export of “famous brands” merchandise from China.

U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk announced Friday that China had agreed to terminate dozens of subsidies that encouraged exports, including the Famous Export Brand, China World Trade Brand and China Name Brand Products initiatives.
