BoE Launches Impact Study For Potential Solvency II Reforms

Law360, London (July 20, 2021, 3:45 PM BST) -- The Bank of England called on insurers on Tuesday to provide data to help it model the potential impact on the market of a major overhaul to regulations governing capital reserves.

The bank said it wanted to collect information "covering a range of economic scenarios" to help it consider the potential impact from reform to the Solvency II Directive.

The U.K. is considering overhauling the European Union regulation, which governs how much capital insurers are required to hold to allow them to withstand market shocks and continue to be able to pay out on claims.
