Judge Sides With Insurer In Colo. Dirt Pollution Case

Law360, New York (December 22, 2009, 2:01 PM EST) -- A judge has granted summary judgment to United Fire & Casualty Insurance Co. in its dispute with New Salida Ditch Co. Inc., an irrigation company that hoped to cash in on its insurance policy after facing legal action for introducing dirt into the Arkansas River in Colorado.

Judge John Kane of the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado on Friday also granted United's partial motion to dismiss the case and denied New Salida's motion for partial summary judgment.
