Polaris Recalls ATVs Over Steering Hazard

Law360, New York (December 23, 2009, 3:10 PM EST) -- Polaris Industries Inc. has recalled about 8,500 all-terrain vehicles, after determining that a defect can cause drivers to lose steering control.

The Medina, Minn.-based company announced Tuesday that it was cooperating with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to recall its model year 2009 and 2010 ATVs.

The ATVs were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide for between $7,500 and $10,800 from February to November 2009 under the names Sportsman XP 550, Sportsman XP 550 EPS, Sportsman XP 850 EPS, Sportsman Touring 550, Sportsman Touring 850 and...
