Clinton Defends Foreign Service Forced Retirement Age

Law360, New York (December 23, 2009, 3:39 PM EST) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has moved to dismiss a Foreign Service officer's age bias suit, contending that the compulsory retirement age at issue is part of a law enacted by Congress and therefore exempted from the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

In the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia on Monday, Clinton filed the motion to dismiss Foreign Service officer Elizabeth Colton's suit challenging the Foreign Service Act.
