Enviro Groups Mull Appeal Of RRI CWA Case Dismissal

Law360, New York (December 23, 2009, 1:30 PM EST) -- Environmental groups PennEnvironment and the Sierra Club are considering a challenge to a federal judge's recent decision to dismiss their lawsuit against an RRI Energy Inc. subsidiary over pollutants discharged from a coal-fired power plant into Pennsylvania's Conemaugh River.

Magistrate Judge Amy Reynolds Hay of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania granted defendant RRI Energy Northeast Management Co. a motion to dismiss on Tuesday. RRI Energy Inc. was formerly known as Reliant Energy Inc.
