Japan IP Court To Open In April 2005

Law360, New York (May 7, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Japan’s plans for a specialized intellectual property court have progressed quickly, with a tentative launch date now set for April 2005.

The new court will be set up pending the expected passage of related bills in the current Diet session.

A branch of the Tokyo High Court, the patent court will be given a high degree of autonomy and function like a full-fledged court.
