4th Circ. Sides With Bowles Rice In Malpractice Suit

Law360, New York (January 5, 2010, 3:50 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court on Tuesday affirmed a lower court ruling that let Bowles Rice McDavid Graff & Love LLP and several partners off the hook in a legal malpractice lawsuit that accused the firm of a conflict of interest for its involvement with two competing oil well bidders.

In a per curiam opinion, a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit upheld a district court's summary judgment ruling that rejected claims against Bowles Rice brought by one of the bidders,...
