Obama To Renominate Johnsen, Other DOJ Picks

Law360, New York (January 8, 2010, 3:57 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama will reportedly renominate Dawn Johnsen to head the Office of Legal Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice, following Republican lawmakers' opposition to her appointment because of her prior work with an abortion rights group.

Obama also plans to resubmit names for five other nominees, as well, including Christopher Schroeder to lead the Office of Legal Policy in the Justice Department, and Mary Smith to head its tax division, The New York Times reported Thursday, citing an unnamed White House official.
