Global Generic Drug Market To Grow 10%-15% Annually, Survey Says

Law360, New York (May 10, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Fueled by a rising volume of patent expirations, sales growth for generic drugs is expected to sharply outpace growth for branded drugs in the next few years, according to a survey by a market research firm.

In the past five years, the generics industry has grown from $21 billion to $40. Over the next five years, the market is expected to grow 10-15% annually, according to business intelligence firm Cutting Edge Information.
