Liz Claiborne To Get Refund In Lyocell Duties Dispute

Law360, New York (January 8, 2010, 5:21 PM EST) -- Women's clothing retailer Liz Claiborne Inc. has said it will accept a refund from the U.S. government in order to put an end to a slew of suits challenging duty rates the company paid for garments made with lyocell.

In a settlement agreement filed in one of the suits Thursday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, Liz Claiborne agreed to accept a refund of $96,218.69, with interest, for entries dating back to 1999, in exchange for terminating all of its lyocell lawsuits against the federal...
