Hewlett-Packard Takes Patent Dispute With Gateway To ITC

Law360, New York (May 10, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Expanding its patent litigation against one of its chief rivals, U.S. computer maker Hewlett-Packard has petitioned the U.S. International Trade Commission to block Gateway from importing computers.

Hewlett-Packard, which sued Gateway for patent infringement in March, has asked the ITC to prevent Gateway’s and eMachines’ offshore-made machines from entering the U.S. Gateway acquired Korean computer maker eMachines in January for $266 million.
