EPA Tightens Rule On Hazardous Waste Exports

Law360, New York (January 8, 2010, 3:05 PM EST) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has revised its regulations and issued a new final rule to ensure that shipping hazardous waste between countries for recovery is done in an environmentally sound manner.

The final rule, published in the Federal Register on Friday, makes the EPA's Resource Conservation and Recovery Act hazardous waste trans-boundary shipment regulations more consistent with those of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, according to the agency.
