Feds Appeal Broadcom Dismissal, Drop Drug Charges

Law360, New York (January 8, 2010, 3:18 PM EST) -- Federal prosecutors have indicated they will appeal the dismissal of their high-profile stock options backdating cases against the founders of semiconductor giant Broadcom Corp., Henry T. Nicholas III and Henry Samueli, but have dropped drug charges against Nicholas.

In notices of appeal filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, U.S. attorneys said they would challenge Judge Cormac J. Carney's rulings throwing out their case against Nicholas, Broadcom's former CEO, and vacating Samueli's guilty plea.
