Travelers Wins Spat With Insured Over Policy Phrasing

Law360, New York (January 12, 2010, 7:52 PM EST) -- In a case involving the contractual definition of “administrative proceedings,” the Connecticut Supreme Court has upheld summary judgment in favor of Travelers Casualty & Surety Co. of America, which had refused to defend or indemnify a policyholder hit with a wrongful discharge suit.

On Monday the state high court said National Waste Associates LLC was not entitled to a defense or indemnification pursuant to an employment practices liability insurance policy issued by Travelers.
