China To Draft Insurance Merger Rules: Report

Law360, New York (January 12, 2010, 4:45 PM EST) -- The China Insurance Regulatory Commission is reportedly set to draft new rules for mergers and acquisitions involving insurance companies as the country continues to build its antitrust law and maintain industrial competitiveness.

The agency is planning to draft or amend regulations on insurance corporate management, asset management and personal insurance agent management in the “near future,” Xinhua News Agency reported Friday, citing an unnamed CIRC official.
