FDA Scolds Lilly, Bayer, Others Over Drug Ads

Law360, New York (January 12, 2010, 5:48 PM EST) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has taken Eli Lilly & Co., Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals Inc. and two other drug companies to task over advertisements, dosing cards and statements related to their drugs.

The regulator's drug advertising and marketing wing posted the letters on its Web site Tuesday, chastising Eli Lilly over an advertisement for Cymbalta, Bayer over statements about the contraceptive Mirena, and Cephalon Inc. and Amylin Pharmaceuticals Inc. over information and comments made about leukemia drug Treanda and diabetes treatment Byetta, respectively.
