Philips Drops Set-Top Box NAFTA Refund Spat

Law360, New York (January 13, 2010, 1:31 PM EST) -- Philips Electronics North America Corp. has dropped its case challenging U.S. Customs and Border Protection's decision that set-top boxes the electronics giant imported from Mexico did not qualify to receive preference under the North American Free Trade Agreement.

The U.S. Court of International Trade on Wednesday approved the stipulated dismissal with prejudice of Philips' complaint over Customs' determination and the nearly $14,000 in duties the company paid on the products.
