Dozens Of In-House Teams Join Mansfield Rule '3.0' Program

By Andrew Strickler (October 20, 2021, 2:25 PM EDT) -- A new push to raise the bar on in-house diversity and hiring standards has attracted more than 40 legal departments, many of them from name-brand companies, according to a Wednesday announcement from a legal diversity-and-inclusion organization.

Billed as Mansfield Rule "Legal Department 3.0" for in-house teams, the heightened certification requirements include standards for tracking more categories of internal and external hires, including among LGBTQ lawyers and lawyers with disabilities.

Participants in the newest iteration include a varied lineup of corporate heavyweights — The Clorox Company, 3M, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, MetLife and United Airlines, among others.
