La. AG Goes After Chinese Drywall Cos.

Law360, New York (January 13, 2010, 6:52 PM EST) -- The companies responsible for manufacturing and importing the more than 1.1 million sheets of Chinese drywall used to help rebuild New Orleans after hurricanes Katrina and Rita now face a lawsuit from the Louisiana attorney general, who claims the state suffered economic loss because of the defendants’ toxic drywall.

Attorney General James "Buddy" Caldwell lodged the lawsuit on behalf of the state on Wednesday in the Civil District Court for the Parish of New Orleans, seeking to recover damages that he says the state has suffered...
