DOJ Targets New Facet Of Chip Industry

Law360, New York (December 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- On the heels of investigations into the DRAM and SRAM markets, the U.S. Department of Justice has issued subpoenas to two businesses as part of a probe into antitrust violations in the graphics processor and cards market.

Advanced Micro Devices and NVIDIA, which control about half of the market, said Thursday and Friday that they had received subpoenas. AMD just entered the graphics processor business when it acquired ATI Technologies in October.
