Importing Drugs, Medical Devices To US From China

Law360, New York (January 15, 2010, 10:35 AM EST) -- There is no questioning China’s position as a leading exporter of pharmaceuticals and medical devices to the U.S. In 2008, China was the third-largest source of medical equipment and supplies imported into the U.S., with a $2.8 billion share of the total $22.8 billion market of U.S. imports.[1]

China also holds a sizable share of pharmaceuticals that are imported into the U.S., with a share of $1.5 billion out of the $80 billion total.[2] The value of all imports to the United States in both sectors...
