Dow Strikes Deal With EPA Over Mich. Dioxin Cleanup

Law360, New York (January 15, 2010, 5:32 PM EST) -- Dow Chemical Co. has agreed to take additional steps toward evaluating dioxin contamination in the Tittabawassee and Saginaw rivers near its Midland, Mich., plant, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Friday.

Under an administrative order on consent, Dow will be required to identify cleanup options and to design the cleanup remedy that the EPA ultimately selects for the Superfund site. The order was signed by both the EPA and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
