Proposals For European Patent Court Delayed

Law360, New York (December 4, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The European Commission has delayed the release of its proposals for a European-wide patent system, said European Union Internal Market Commissioner Charlie McCreevy on Monday.

Commissioner McCreevy had planned to submit proposals by the end of the year, but revealed the delay at a meeting with industry leaders in Brussels, Reuters reported.

“It’s clear that more time is needed to look at all options,” McCreevy said, according to Reuters’ report.
