LG Must Remove Fridges' Energy Star Labels: Judge

Law360, New York (January 20, 2010, 2:09 PM EST) -- LG Electronics USA Inc. will temporarily remove the Energy Star label from 40,000 of its French door refrigerators, after a federal judge denied the company's request for an injunction that would have allowed it to retain the designation.

Judge John D. Bates of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia denied the injunction request on Monday, forcing LG to comply with a directive from the U.S. Department of Energy, which administers the Energy Star program, to remove the labels.
