Court Upholds Rejection Of Everglades-Area Mining

Law360, New York (January 22, 2010, 6:12 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has ruled that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers should not have issued permits allowing mining companies to extract limestone from a wetlands area containing a primary aquifer for Miami-Dade County, handing a victory to the Sierra Club and other environmental groups.
