Glow Industries Settles Perfume Trademark Suit With Jennifer Lopez and Sweetface Fashion Co.

Law360 (October 22, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Jennifer Lopez, Coty Inc. and Sweetface Fashion Company and Glow Industries settled the trademark infringement suit brought by Glow Industries in Federal Court in California, Glow Industries said in a statement.

In its lawsuit, Glow Industries, which sells lotions, candles and other scented products, including perfume, under the Glow brand, accused Lopez and her partner, Sweetface Fashion Industry, of infringing its trademark.

However, Lopez's attorneys argued that customers were unlikely to confuse the two brands since Glow sold its perfumes in specialty shops whereas Glow by J.Lo was targeted at younger consumers in mainstream outlets.
