Saudi Embassy Unit Hits Aetna Over Rate Hike

Law360, New York (January 26, 2010, 12:56 PM EST) -- The Cultural Mission of the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia has accused Aetna Global Benefits Inc. of breaching a health insurance contract by seeking to increase premiums more than 80 percent three months after the coverage took effect.

The complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, seeks declaratory relief that Aetna's alleged efforts to hike the mission's rates runs counter to the policy it issued. The mission wants the court to bar the insurer from following through on its threats...
