Gas Cos. Lose Appeal Of FERC Pipeline Reduction

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 4:57 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has denied a group of natural gas shippers' bid for a review of a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission order reducing the capacity of a pipeline stretching hundreds of miles across New England.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit ruled Tuesday that because the Portland Natural Gas Transmission System Shippers Group had not yet suffered financially from FERC's decision, the appeals court lacked standing to hear the case.
