For Toyota, Incremental Recalls May Mean Litigation Woes

Law360, New York (January 27, 2010, 6:00 PM EST) -- Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc.'s management of a massive recall of its vehicles may turn out to be a lesson in how not to handle a problematic product, lawyers said.

On Tuesday Toyota announced that its dealers should stop selling the eight models of vehicles that were involved in a Jan. 21 recall over sticking accelerator pedals. About 2.3 million vehicles were included in the recall, which includes some of the company's most popular models such as Camry and Corolla.
