Glass Ceiling Still Looms Over Judge's Bench: Study

Law360, New York (January 29, 2010, 4:42 PM EST) -- Women are still underrepresented on the nation’s federal and state judicial benches, holding only 22 percent of all federal judgeships and 26 percent of all state-level positions, according to a new study.

The study, released Thursday by the Center for Women in Government & Civil Society at the University at Albany, State University of New York, noted that at the federal level, only New Jersey and Connecticut had more than one-third of judgeships occupied by women.
