Ex-Covington Atty's Racial Bias Claims Pared

Law360, New York (January 29, 2010, 5:22 PM EST) -- A federal judge has thrown out several claims in an employment discrimination suit brought against Covington & Burling LLP by a black attorney who claimed she was professionally mistreated because of her race and retaliated against by the firm for complaining about it.

Judge Reggie B. Walton of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled Thursday that certain aspects of Young's amended complaint should be tossed because they were either time-barred or improperly pleaded.
