Wells Fargo Faces Patent Suit Over EasyPay System

Law360, New York (February 1, 2010, 1:09 PM EST) -- Payment processor Autoscribe Corp. has slapped Wells Fargo Bank NA with a suit claiming the financial institution's EasyPay system infringes patents covering automated telephone payment technology.

In a complaint lodged Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Autoscribe and Pollin Patent Licensing LLC claim that Wells Fargo and its subsidiary, Wells Fargo Financial Inc., have infringed two patents covering financial transaction payment systems that accept payment by telephone.
