Kuka Robotics Fights To Recover Import Duties

Law360, New York (February 1, 2010, 6:03 PM EST) -- Kuka Robotics Corp. has filed suit in an effort to recover duty payments that U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials imposed on a shipment of industrial arc-welding robots and controls imported from Germany.

The complaint, lodged Friday in the U.S. Court of International Trade, claims that Customs misclassified the robots and tagged the July 2000 shipment in question with import duties that should not have been assessed.
