Legal Payments At Issue In Rowe Companies Case

Law360, New York (December 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Unsecured creditors of bankrupt Rowe Companies’ furniture unit filed a motion Wednesday to stop monthly payments to the lawyers overseeing the bankruptcy filing.

The committee representing the unsecured creditors of Rowe Furniture Inc. said it believed the case might be “administratively insolvent” and claimed it was worried about the financial stability of the company.

The committee asked the court to temporarily suspend payments to lawyers, but wanted the legal advisors to file consistent interim compensation orders in the meantime.
