US, Canada Resolve 'Buy American' Spat

Law360, New York (February 5, 2010, 3:36 PM EST) -- The U.S. has struck a deal with Canada that would end a yearlong dispute over Buy American provisions in 2009's federal economic stimulus package and open up Canadian procurement contracts to U.S. companies.

The agreement would grant Canadian suppliers access to state and federal public works projects in the U.S. in a range of programs funded by the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk announced Friday.
