DOJ Voices Concerns Over S.C. Health Plan

Law360, New York (December 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Concerned over the potential anti-competitive effects of South Carolina’s 2007 draft of its health plan, the U.S. Department of Justice sent a letter on Friday encouraging the state to consider the benefits of competitive entry into its hospital markets.

The DOJ admitted that it had not reviewed all aspects of the 2007 draft plan in detail, but it nonetheless identified a few provisions concerning entry into hospital markets in the Palmetto State that warranted attention.
