ConocoPhillips Settles EPA Suit Over Plant Emissions

Law360, New York (February 5, 2010, 4:38 PM EST) -- ConocoPhillips Co. has agreed to fork over $175,000 and rein in emissions at two natural gas compressor stations in Colorado in order to settle U.S. Environmental Protection Agency allegations that the oil company ran afoul of the Clean Air Act.

The agency filed an administrative complaint and settlement agreement Thursday that requires ConocoPhillips to install pollution control equipment and otherwise clamp down on emissions at the Argenta and Sunnyside compressor stations on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation in southwestern Colorado.
