Ala. Residents To Sue Over Odorous Coal Ash Landfill

Law360, New York (February 8, 2010, 4:55 PM EST) -- A lawyer for 155 residents in Uniontown, Ala., has indicated his intent to sue a contractor and the operator of a landfill that is accepting coal ash from the site of a massive spill at a Tennessee Valley Authority facility.

Tallahassee, Fla.-based environmental lawyer David A. Ludder said in a letter dated Feb. 2 that Phill-Con Services LLC, which operates the Uniontown landfill, and Phillips & Jordan Inc., which has a contract to transport and dispose of coal ash at the landfill, were running a prohibited...
