Samsung, LG.Philips Face Global LCD Antitrust Probe

Law360, New York (December 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Acting on suspicions that the companies may have rigged the prices of liquid crystal displays, regulators in Korea, Japan and the United States started investigations into LG.Philips LCD Co. and Samsung Electronics Co. on Friday.

"Last Friday, as part of an investigation of possible anti-competitive conduct in the LCD industry, officials from the Korean Fair Trade Commission visited the offices of LG.Philips LCD in Seoul, Korea," LG.Philips said in statement released on Monday.
