AFL-CIO Tries To Rally Support For Union Law

Law360 (December 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- For the lives of workers to improve, organized labor movement must regain its strength, and the Employee Free Choice Act is the key to achieving that goal, AFL-CIO President John Sweeney told union members on Friday.

The leader of the powerful labor organization, which boasts an estimated nine million members, told hundreds gathered at a so-called organizing summit that employees’ lives would be significantly helped if unions could recover from their weakened state.
