Taiwan Says China Pact Luring Foreign Investors

Law360, New York (February 9, 2010, 4:56 PM EST) -- The president of Taiwan reportedly said Tuesday that the country's Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement with China — which will eliminate tariffs on goods shipped from Taiwan to China — has already generated interest from foreign companies in investing in the island.

“Foreign firms have expressed a willingness to increase investment or make new investments in Taiwan” after the ECFA goes into effect, Ma Ying-jeou told reporters, according to Dow Jones. The agreement is due to be signed later in 2010.
