FCC Decision On AT&T Merger Angers Industry

Law360 (December 11, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Federal Communications Commissioner Robert McDowell has been cleared to participate in the agency’s upcoming vote on the merger of AT&T Inc. and BellSouth Corp., and industry watchdogs are not pleased.

FCC General Counsel Samuel Feder approved McDowell’s participation on Friday, despite the fact that McDowell had recused himself from the vote due to a past career as a lobbyist and attorney for smaller telecom companies.
