Stanford Execs Can't Dodge Doc-Shredding Case

Law360, New York (February 9, 2010, 5:23 PM EST) -- A federal judge has refused a midtrial request to dismiss charges against two Stanford Financial Group executives accused of shredding documents as investigators closed in on the company's alleged Ponzi scheme.

Visiting Judge Richard Goldberg on Tuesday denied a motion to acquit defendants Thomas Raffanello and Bruce Perraud, according to a source close to the case. Judge Goldberg is presiding over their trial in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
