Infant Deaths Prompt CPSC To Recall 500K Cribs

Law360, New York (February 9, 2010, 4:28 PM EST) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recalled all Generation 2 Worldwide and Childesigns-brand drop-side cribs, following reports of infant deaths attributed to suffocation and strangulation hazards in the cribs' design and hardware.

On Tuesday the agency urged parents and caregivers to stop using these products immediately and find an alternative, safe sleeping environment for infants and toddlers.

Generation 2 Worldwide went out of business in 2005, but the CPSC believes more than 500,000 of the units were sold to consumers at furniture and retail stores...
