Ex-Snell & Wilmer Partner Settles Cocaine Disability Suit

Law360, New York (February 10, 2010, 1:36 PM EST) -- Unum Life Insurance Co. of America and a former Snell & Wilmer LLP partner who sued the insurer and the law firm's benefit plan after seeking treatment for cocaine addiction have reached a deal to end their disability benefits dispute.

An order filed Tuesday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said that plaintiff-appellant Michael K. Kelly, the Maine-based insurer and the Welfare Benefit Plan Administrative Committee of the 400-attorney firm had agreed to dismiss the case.
