UPS Settles Discrimination Case

Law360, New York (December 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- United Parcel Service Inc. has agreed to shell out $100,000 to settle a discrimination lawsuit brought by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of a former employee.

The suit alleges that the carrier discriminated against Eugenio D’Oliveira by terminating him from his position as a sorter/loader because of his eye condition. The settlement was entered and the case closed on Dec. 5.
